What is the laser eye surgery success rate?

So the laser eye surgery success rate with modern techniques is very good. In my hands, 99.5% of people have vision equal to or better than their spectacles or contact lenses with one treatment.

That of course, means that one in 200 people may need a second treatment. And the reason for that is not because the laser doesn’t apply the treatment correctly or the procedure is done incorrectly. It’s because everybody’s eyes are different and some people respond in a different way to others. So occasionally, especially people with high treatments, maybe -8, may need a retreatment. And that rate is about 1 in 200.
