What are the symptoms of dry eye?

The symptoms of dry eye are feeling of grittiness in the eyes, a feeling of burning in the eyes, redness of the eyes and also blurring of vision, which is something people don’t recognise.

Often patients will say: “Sometimes my vision is clear, other times my vision is blurred”. And that’s nearly always the result of a dry eye.

Patients may say: “When I blink my vision is clear, but within a few seconds it’s blurry again”. Again, that’s a dry eye.
